Yvonne E. Carpenter

Yvonne E. Carpenter, 88, Pruden­ville, died Feb. 5, 2018, at her home with her family by her side.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Christler Fu­neral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Stockwell officiat­ing. Visitation will be held the day of the service from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Born Feb. 6, 1929, in Saginaw, she was the daughter of Cecil and Thelma (Plemon) Scott. She grew up in the Sagi­naw area graduating from Saginaw Ar­thur Hill High School. She worked as a secretary for Saginaw County Infirmary Hospital for many years. She was mar­ried Jan. 29, 1949, in Indiana, to John R. Carpenter. She was a member of the Drop Out Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and donating her projects to the health department for use with their families. She was always involved in, and enjoying, the activities with the resi­dents at Country Village.

Preceding her in death were her par­ents; husband, John R. Carpenter; son, Brian Carpenter; and brothers, Donald Scott and Kenneth Scott.

Surviving Mrs. Carpenter are her daughter, Tracy (Greg McFalls) An­derson of Prudenville; granddaughters, Nicole (David) Hinderer and Katie Richards; grandsons, Scott (Nicole) Anderson and John (Jennifer) Ander­son; great-grandchildren, Luke, Sydney, Jack, John, Christopher, Fern and Liam; sister-in-law, Judy Scott of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be di­rected to the Missaukee County Animal Shelter.

Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled the arrangements.
