Charles L. Robbins

Houghton Lake Heights resident Charles L. Robbins, 62, died Feb. 19, 2018, at his home.

Visitation will be held today (Thurs­day, Feb. 22); from 4 to 7 p.m. and Fri­day, Feb. 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at Roscommon Township Cem­etery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contri­butions may be directed to the family.

He was born Jan. 1, 1956, in Lansing, to Charles and Naomi (Moore) Robbins. He grew up in the Lansing area and graduated from Lansing Sexton High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked as an entertainer with his Elvis Tribute Program and his One Man Band. He also drove bus for Clare County Transportation in Harrison, from which he retired. He was a member of the Alano Club, Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Moose, Houghton- Higgins Lake Elks and Houghton Lake VFW Post #4034.

Preceding him in death were his par­ents; sister, Joan Powell; and two broth­ers, Robert and Richard.

Surviving Mr. Robbins are his two daughters, Maurina Robbins of Lansing and Candie Martin of Houghton Lake; two sons, Charles L. Robbins IV of Lan­sing and Jonathon (Cassandra) Martin of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren; sis­ter, Kay Leathers of Harrison; brother, Rex A. (Lynn) Robbins of Houghton Lake; former wife, Shawn Vilella; sev­eral nieces and nephews; and very spe­cial friends, Mac and Edie Tario and Pat and Dean.
