Viola E. Duby

Viola E. Duby, 82, Roscommon, died at home March 6, 2018.

A private family service will be held later and she will be buried in Linwood Cemetery, AuGres. Arrangements were handled by Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon.

She was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Bloomfield Township, the daughter of Leroy and Cora A. (Cornish) Newsome. She and Eugene M. Duby were united in marriage June 27, 1953, in AuGres.

Mrs. Duby was a punch press operator at Bopp-Busch Manufacturing in AuGres for more than 30 years, retiring in 1998. She lived in AuGres until 2013, moving to Twining for three years. She moved to Roscommon two years ago.

She loved getting together with family during the holidays and making Christmas cookies for family and friends. She enjoyed embroidering, fishing, polkas, western and country music, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Eugene; daughter, Diana Lynn Duby; grandson, George Schlagel III; parents; sisters, Violet Armstead and Iola Newsome; and brothers, Frank, Ed, Lloyd and Ray Newsome.

Surviving are her children, Cindy (Billy) Petrey of Fyffe, AL, Julie (Randy) McDonald of Twining, Lou Ann (Keith) Ganshorn of Lachine, Carolyn (Tim) Near of Roscommon, Rose Wilmot of Raywood, TX, and Marvin Duby of AuGres; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
