Ava Raye Gasper




 

 

Fourteen-year-old Ava Raye Gasper, Houghton Lake, died Sept. 8, 2020, at home, surrounded by her family.

A service will be held Friday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. at Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Bryan Thompson and the Rev. Andrew Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Friday from 11 a.m. until the service. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, masks and social distancing are required when attending the visitation and funeral services. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled arrangements.

She was born Oct. 24, 2005, in Clare, the daughter of Quinton and Jodi (Morgan) Gasper. She spent all of her life at Houghton Lake and was entering the 10th grade at Houghton Lake Community Schools. She enjoyed basketball, softball and driving around on her golf cart. Her true love was spending time with friends, family and her dogs.

Surviving are her mother, Jodi (Steven) Spear of Houghton Lake; father, Quinton (Donna) Gasper of Houghton Lake; four sisters, Kayla Blackwell, Raegan Blackwell, Hailey Gasper and Riley Spear, all of Houghton Lake; maternal grandmother, Debra Kay of Houghton Lake; maternal grandfather, Mitchell (Lisa) Morgan of Waterford; paternal grandparents, Dennis (Darla) Gasper of Millington; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Gasper of Millington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
